A True Wife

"A true wife makes a man's life nobler, stronger, grander, by the omnipotence of her love 'turning all the forces of manhood upward and heavenward.' While she clings to him in holy confidence and loving dependence she brings out in him whatever is nobles and richest in his being. She inspires him with her courage and earnestness. She beautifies his life. She softens whatever is rude and harsh in his habits or his spirit. She clothes him with the gentler graces of refined and cultured manhood. While she yields to him and never disregards his lightest wish, she is really his queen, ruling his whole life and leading him onward and upward in every proper path. -JR Miller

Chore List - Updated

#1 Get our bathroom ready to paint....(I will not even go into how much I dislike painting)

I hate corners and not because of corner time either (have yet to have that) but because they are impossible to clean so I used his toothbrush to scrub them clean. The window frame has been scrubbed which was a big chore because it is right in front of the sink and mirror and I used hairspray. The door and door jam has been washed down and the baseboards have been scrubbed. I am just waiting for it all to dry so I can dust them again then I will mop the floor. OH Don't Worry He Got A New Toothbrush...he needed one anyway. (Gotta ya LOL)

Waiting on chore two which I will probably get at lunch when I see him.

More Texts - I am beginning to hate the cell phone...if this is way I am going to get my chore list I want a new phone with a full key board - I still have one of the plain Jane ones because I don't use the cell phone. (let me rephrase that I didn't use the cell phone much before today-I guess next time I will just collect the over time I wouldn't have worked this hard at work LOL)

Chore #2 Be at restaurant before him and order lunch.

Ok can handle that...Had an OC (oh crap) moment when I got there couldn't find my debit card. Finally found it was paying as he walked in. Over lunch discussed paint colors, I didn't get my choice but that is ok it is gray tones so anything will go with it. Was more disappointed over the fact he wants to strip and stain the bathroom cabinet - I want to paint it white.

Chore # 3 Go to Home Depot and Wal-Mart and get $$ to pay the bill (our bank is by Wal-Mart)

Him - get paint, tape and new rollers.
Me - YEA garden center
Him - The front yard mine you only get the garden in the back
Me - Ok but blueberry bushes would look good as hedges.
Him - The look
Me - Fine no blueberry bushes.

Left him at 1:00p drive 15miles to HD checked out of HD at 2:06 (OMG paint is expensive but then again he wanted the good stuff at $28+ a gallon *faint*) Did not get much in the garden center got a few pots one was on clearance $28 pot for $7.50 (yea me) bought a couple of aloe plants and some herb seeds. Head to bank/WM (23 miles in opposite direction). Arrive at WM look for him socks, he likes tube socks because he wears work boots...NO tube socks did get him new undies-and not the ones I wanted either (wink wink) he got the boring boxer briefs.Check out of WM at 3:33 Stop at ATM and get $$ head to pay bill

3:28 text - Need to wash our sheets -- WHAT?! Wash the sheets the dang bed is already made up-laundry day is tomorrow @$*&^ Snazzle Frazzle grumble grumble...

Reply text - 3:46 - Not home yet headed to pay bill will wash them when I get home

Why oh why didn't he tell me this morning at 7:30 when he left that he wanted the sheets washed...yes will need to discuss this with him. OH and NO I was not texting and driving - I DO NOT DRIVE (panic attacks in traffic was in BAD wreck only drive on back roads when I have to. Will drive if it is an emergency and have driven but...) #1 son was chauffeur.

Chore #4 We will clean out from under the bed when I get home...

Major pouty face that is one of my major storage areas, I hope he lets me keep it as storage if not well I will need a bigger house :-)

  2. You got me with the toothbrush thing..lol. Sounds like unfun chores. I got an assigned job today. I don't know if it's spankable if I fail to get it done, but I don't wish to play the odds either. It's an unfun chore..blech.

    Good luck!

  3. Annie, you did ask for this. Remember? Hang in there. He is doing his job. Book camp just lasts a few weeks.

  4. Missie, I know I asked for it and I felt bad after fussing (when he wasn't around of course.) When he got home for work I gave him a run down on where I was on the list of chores and then I said "Honey will you do me a favor, next time you want the sheets washed before laundry day will you please tell me before I make the bed." He got this really strange look and then the light bulb went off. He gave me his silly grin and said "OK"

It has been a busy day. I am ready for a nap.

  5. I thought you really had used his toothbrush and my heart dropped!

One chore and then another and then another via text? Grrrrr. That would make me nuts! That's like waiting in a 90 min line at Disney World. Painful.

  6. LOL @ Cedeno - It was his toothbrush he had just used that morning LOL I am serious. Don't worry he thought it was hilarious. Just the day before he asked if we had any more toothbrushes, said he would be needing one soon. I just helped him out ;-)

I had to text him when the chore was done and he would text right back with another one. I would have been a VIP at Disney if that was waiting in line. Heck it was texting them faster than I could finish - I wasn't even home when he sent the text about the bedsheets.

Oh well it was all worth it I am getting a new bathroom this morning. I as I type this he is painting the bathroom and after seeing the cabinet against the new wall color he agreed the cabinet should be white YEA!!!
