A True Wife

"A true wife makes a man's life nobler, stronger, grander, by the omnipotence of her love 'turning all the forces of manhood upward and heavenward.' While she clings to him in holy confidence and loving dependence she brings out in him whatever is nobles and richest in his being. She inspires him with her courage and earnestness. She beautifies his life. She softens whatever is rude and harsh in his habits or his spirit. She clothes him with the gentler graces of refined and cultured manhood. While she yields to him and never disregards his lightest wish, she is really his queen, ruling his whole life and leading him onward and upward in every proper path. -JR Miller

Springing Forward

It is that time of year again; that's correct we loose an hours sleep tonight. For those of us that are forced to observe daylight savings time we must set out clocks ahead one hour tonight. Why oh why can't they leave well enough alone? Either move them ahead one hour or roll them back one hour. It doesn't matter to me just leave the darn things along. Ok so I am off to change the batteries in all the clocks and smoke detectors. mumble mumble mumble...hey I am not the only one mumbling hubby hates this as much as I do.

  1. I'm a daylight savers lover - in the morning if it's dark, who care? I'm just going to work anyway. But to have more light in the evenings - now that's heaven. So I'm with you on part of this I wish they would change it tonight and then just leave it that way!

    Hugs,
    PK

  4. Thank you, after reading this I sent the boys to change the clocks. Now I'm up and I really hate it. It reminds me of how old and crotchedy I'm getting because it will take a week to make this adjustment.

  5. PK I love the longer daylight after I get home. I just hate the changing back and forth.

Stormy, I think it is supposed to help us save energy. I heard it was for the farmers but I am 48 and grew up in farm country the dang rooster was our clock. I don't think my grandparents ever had a clock in their house until they moved to the city.

Saffy you could go ahead and spring forward with us LOL

Mick - old and crotchedy you shouldn't talk about me like that LOL. I am old and yeah well I am crotchedy this morning too. I ache all over even in places that don't normally ache. This next week is going to be murder. Definitely not a good week for mother nature to visit. :-(
