A True Wife

"A true wife makes a man's life nobler, stronger, grander, by the omnipotence of her love 'turning all the forces of manhood upward and heavenward.' While she clings to him in holy confidence and loving dependence she brings out in him whatever is nobles and richest in his being. She inspires him with her courage and earnestness. She beautifies his life. She softens whatever is rude and harsh in his habits or his spirit. She clothes him with the gentler graces of refined and cultured manhood. While she yields to him and never disregards his lightest wish, she is really his queen, ruling his whole life and leading him onward and upward in every proper path. -JR Miller

New Rules

We have a new rule in the house. Once hubby is in bed and the light is out I can not ask him questions or talk to him about important things.

He will sit with the light on working reading or working crossword puzzles until his eyes droop then he will turn the light out and go to sleep. Me well it takes me a little while to unwind even after the lights are off and as my mind slows down I remember stuff I wanted to talk to him about so I talk to him. He is half asleep and does not remember our conversation the next morning. So starting today I can not talk to him about important stuff after lights out.

Guess I keep paper and pen on my side of the bed and make notes :-(

  1. sounds like a good idea. Maybe you could pass the book/paper across the bed and put it on his nightstand so he could read in the am.

  2. Shoot, I can't ask Nick important things after 8 at night. He has the hardest time sleeping so we talk about intense stuff before supper.
