A True Wife

"A true wife makes a man's life nobler, stronger, grander, by the omnipotence of her love 'turning all the forces of manhood upward and heavenward.' While she clings to him in holy confidence and loving dependence she brings out in him whatever is nobles and richest in his being. She inspires him with her courage and earnestness. She beautifies his life. She softens whatever is rude and harsh in his habits or his spirit. She clothes him with the gentler graces of refined and cultured manhood. While she yields to him and never disregards his lightest wish, she is really his queen, ruling his whole life and leading him onward and upward in every proper path. -JR Miller

S O S

Help the boxes are winning they are like rabbits and multiplying. Ok so it is really not that bad, maybe. We are like 80% settled; the only thing left in storage is the piano and right now I don’t have room for it. I have yet figured out where to put it. We did have a couple of setbacks and thank goodness we are renting right now. The house has set empty for several years so when the water was turned on the landlord discovered pipe issues with the plumbing so that had to be fixed. The following Saturday we had more issues due to roots in the sewer lines don’t ask how we figured that out, I will say it wasn’t pretty.  This week we discovered that not all the pipe issues were fixed and we have had a leak about a month and half so now the kitchen floor has to be replaced. They are coming tomorrow to take care of that. BUT that means everything has to come out of the kitchen YIKES! Yes everything stove, refrigerator washer, dryer and table and chairs. On the plus side of that I get to paint the kitchen before everything goes back in. YAY! A bright clean kitchen for the new year.

Now for the bad news…DD has come to a screeching halt. Between the move, unpacking and hubby’s new job that he is at from sunup to sundown my backside has gotten tender as I found out this past weekend. Since I don’t have the stress of working outside the home I have been very good and really haven’t needed much disciple his looks and a word or two of warning have been enough to squash any rebellion. However, he decided maintenance needed to be initiated again. So Friday night he pulled out his trusty tool bag and set to work. I could not tolerate much so we are back to square two…toughing up the ol’ backside.

Don’t know how much I will be posting in the future. I will try to do weekly post but if I miss don’t worry I haven’t gone AWOL I just either didn’t have time or nothing happen. I am enjoying my time as Susie Homemaker. With all the changes that have happen it has allowed me to stay home which means I have a lot of free time since there are no children in our home. I am focusing on our diets and eliminating processed foods…much to his displeasure, he loves his Little Debbie snack cakes but I intend for 2013 to be the year of good living for us. I am preserving our own food and I plan on having a backyard garden. So things will be a little different around here. We are off to a new way of life, in more ways than one *wink wink*

  1. The new way of life sounds wonderful. Hard work ahead though. Hope things are all fixed now and you can be all settled by Christmas.
