A True Wife

"A true wife makes a man's life nobler, stronger, grander, by the omnipotence of her love 'turning all the forces of manhood upward and heavenward.' While she clings to him in holy confidence and loving dependence she brings out in him whatever is nobles and richest in his being. She inspires him with her courage and earnestness. She beautifies his life. She softens whatever is rude and harsh in his habits or his spirit. She clothes him with the gentler graces of refined and cultured manhood. While she yields to him and never disregards his lightest wish, she is really his queen, ruling his whole life and leading him onward and upward in every proper path. -JR Miller

12 days and counting

That is correct 12 days and counting until the wedding. Will be working half days next week so I can breathe. This will be the last post until after the wedding. I can't believe my baby is getting married. I am so happy for them...really I am.

I will make a couple more before we move but then it will take a few days to get everything set up and internet installed. I have been told that it will not be an overnight process. I am hoping we can go close on the house have everything turned on then come back and pack up and move.

This is sort of big move 7 hours and across a state line. I am excited I will have 3 acres to play with. Understand I am a southern country girl at heart and I grew up on a farm and had chickens, cows and a BIG garden. The old saying you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take her out of her boots. Ok so maybe is was you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl...either way it is true. I do not like big cities and 5,000 people is big to me. He has vetoed the cows :-( though, but said I could have a FEW chickens (hummm wonder what his definition of a few is?) I have been given the green light on fruit trees and a garden. I don't think knows what he unleashed with that statement. You see I married a city boy ROFL!!! and yes he does have his hands full with me.

The other shoe stayed firmly planted and didn't drop. We worked it out and maintenance continues. The finger is fine. But I must get my eyes checked seems that line between sassy and smart mouth is still blurred. LOL

  1. If I got in trouble for my smart mouth, I would never be able to sit down.

Good luck with the wedding. I am sure it will all be wonderful. Now moving is another matter entirely.

  2. I've never had a child marry and I haven't moved in 30 years. Not interested in doing either right now, but my time is coming. I'll know where to look for help and advice - the wedding will be fantastic!

    Hugs,

    1. I will only be of help if you have a son getting married. There are times I am thankful to have all boys and this is one of them.
